The Krishi Sakhi Yojana seeks to empower women by providing them with training and skills related to various agricultural tasks. These trained “Krishi Sakhis” will assist farmers in their work, contributing to improved agricultural practices.The program has been launched in 12 states: Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Odisha, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, and Meghalaya.
These selected women will serve as para-extension workers, leveraging their expertise to guide fellow farmers effectively. Their training covers diverse agricultural techniques, enabling them to provide valuable assistance and earn additional income—up to ₹60,000 to ₹80,000 annually.Recognizing the vital role of women in agriculture, the Krishi Sakhi Yojana emphasizes soil health and sustainable practices.
By empowering these women, India takes significant strides toward cooperative-based prosperity and environmental well-being.
