Agritech Startup Superplum Raises $15 Million to Expand Fruits Business

Superplum, an agritech startup that sells premium fresh fruits, has recently raised $15 million inSeries A round led by Erik Ragatz, the former partner of private equity firm Hellman & Friedman. The company plans to use the funds to build infrastructure and transform produce supply chains in India.

Founded in 2019 by Shobhit Gupta, Superplum uses technology and cold chain infrastructure to improve how fruits are grown and brought to market. They sell a variety of fruits, including mangoes, litchis, apples, grapes, cherries, and plums. The company works with farmers across 22 states in India and their fruits are available online and in grocery stores.

It also provides traceability, allowing consumers to view pesticide test reports for each batch and see the fruit's journey from farm to table.
